... what happens now?

I have just recieved yet ANOTHER rude and aggressive e-mail from Seller. It has only been 3 days since the end of the auction.

I e-mailed immediately and asked how to pay and how to pick up and got an e-mail back saying pay via paypal and wouldn't discuss pick up (or even tell me the actual address of the item) until after payment cleared.

Then, children became ill, had to attend docs.. Didn't check my emails for approx. 24 hours and I've been bombarded with emails from the seller demanding payment. I replied to the last one, explaining the situation and asking again about pick up.

4 more emails later - STILL no address and more and more aggressive.

WHat happens if I simply say, sod it. I'm not buying it. I have 100% feedback and have never not completed a transaction before (almost 1000 feedbacks)

Thanks for any advice.

I will call ebay tomorrow, but it's eating me up now.

yes paypal nearly always side with the buyer not the seller

lesstalkmoreaction · 18/09/2011 20:42

Next time you have this happen offer to pay a deposit by paypal, Perhaps £10 and then the balance as cash. No way would I pay the full amount without the collection address, sounds like he/she is desperate for the money.
What did you buy??

MsWeatherwax · 18/09/2011 20:46

If it says cash is OK I am sure they can't force you to use paypal! Is there a way of reporting the emails to Ebay?

sarahtigh · 18/09/2011 20:53

paypal side with buyers generally 98% of time I would think, I would never pay anthing except small paypal deposit for collection item, they could take money give false address, say you never collected it

though some collection only items do make it clear in lisitng that they expect collection within 5 days or whatever a sensible seller would only take cash on collection

monkeyfacegrace · 18/09/2011 20:53

I dont understand why you are losing sleep over this. Just email 'it', tell them to stick it and you arent buying anymore.

Now it goes like this;

  1. You leave neg feedback
  2. They open an item not paid for thingymajig
  3. You get a shitty email from them/ebay
  4. You get a strike against your account, which means abs diddly squat.
  5. You get on with your life

Simples! Grin
Can you tell Ive done this a lot?!

parentfailure · 18/09/2011 20:54

Thankyou all.

I will call Ebay tomorrow and update you all then.

THe last email I have from the seller says that they will report me to ebay tonight (I don't think they can until tomorrow - 4 days) and start legal action as I've entered a legally binding agreement.

THey have low feedback. It was a 'designer' chair.

I'm not going to reply. Thank you all for the feedback. I'm guessing I can't block the seller as the emails are coming from ebay. Don't know how to do that. And too damn nosey inquistive to delete without reading. Sad

a seller has to take paypal but not necessarily insist on it

in any case 1 no payment strike will make no difference but as a seller you can stop people with 2 non payment strikes in 1/6/or 12 months from bidding

ask him to cancel transaction so he can do second chance offer to person below you in bidding!

parentfailure · 18/09/2011 20:58

SO, should I leave negative feedback now?
Before they can contact ebay?

I'm not going to pay. I'm sure of that now.

honestly there is no need to contact ebay - they will either tell you to phone your seller for a nice chat or cancel the transaction

Go ahead, leave feedback if you want. Just don't mention paypal in it or it will get removed. Say something like 'seller refused to give address so i couldn't go round to pay and collect. Aggressive'

If they open non payer dispute just respond saying you wanted to pay with cash on collection and seller refused to co-operate - then your neg will not be removed.

CaptainKirksNipples · 18/09/2011 21:12

I've had one of those strikes against me before and it did nothing! I did BIN bid on something but when I tried to make the payment I had to validate something for paypal and it took ages. I explained to the seller that they needed to send an invoice so I could pay by card but they refused so I didn't pay at all. Didn't bother with feedback at all and it hasn't affected any transactions since.

parentfailure · 19/09/2011 13:50

Well, I did leave negative feedback and I have also contacted Ebay who have reviewed the case and said that I will not receive an unpaid item strike against my account Grin

Thankyou all. I was really stressed about it last night.

I've had 2 more messages from the seller. Not replying anymore.
Thanks again!
