Selling smelly item

my mother is a heavy smoker and everything she owns smells of it. She has given me a Kipling bag which I want to sell but having washed it and dried it outside it still stinks.
Any tips on either how to get rid of smell or listing to appeal to those who will snap it up?

Just say it smells like smoke! A smoker might buy it

I would list it as saying it has been washed but still smells of smoke. I sold a chest of drawers which smelt of mothballs, mentioned the smell, thought it would put people off, but it didn't - I was surprised at how much they sold for.

Have you tried Febreze or a smoke-neutralising spray? otherwise yes, be honest and say it smells of smoke!

I will try febreze. Don't now why I didn't think of that before.
I thought of filling it with bicarbonate of soda too. Maybe a bit too dusty.
Then yes will list as smelling of smoke if it doesn't work.

I've heard about bicarb working well on trainers but I guess you would need to get the hoover to clean it all out properly.
