What to do re refund?

I sold an item on ebay. It had some damage to it (nothing major), which I did clearly display and describe Bag sold for a fiver. Buyer is unhappy and wants a refund, including postage there and back. I am happy to refund, even though it clearly stated "no refunds accepted". Not so sure I should refund postage though, as she had the option to buy the bag or not.

The buyer is being quite mean to me really. I always just try and keep everyone happy, but in this instance I feel a little angry.

What shall I do?

I hate situations like this. Think, simply, you have 2 options - give in and don't receive negative feedback...or part refund/no refund and get a negative. Theres alot of ifs and buts but IME it comes down to a negative or not. Sorry. Remember to block the bitch buyer from your auctions in future.

well you will have to refund all of the original payment - whether you refund the cost of returning the item to you is up to you. There is no guarantee that you won't get a negative even if you do refund all the costs including return postage.

Whether you state you accept returns or not is irrelevant - buyers can always return items for a refund anyway.

Don't stress too much about the odd negative. They're part of being a seller on eBay. I've got over a thousand feedback score. I recently got a neg on an item that I've been making and selling for several years. Anyone looking at my feedback would be able to see that the abberation is that buyer, not me as a seller. I've made several hundres of the item and this was the only complaint.

I actually had a cheeky bastard from Europe buy one of my lap steel guitars, tell me it was not as described and put in a dispute with Paypal/eBay. Of course they sided with the buyer so my Paypal account was frozen unit I paid up several hundred dollars to cover the item plus international postage. I asked him to send it back to me and let me know the postage cost so I could reimburse him, but of course he didn't and then cancelled his eBay registration. A while later someone mentioned that they'd seen one of my lap steel guitars on a YouTube clip. Sure enough there was this guy playing the lappie he'd said was unplayable crap! There's nothing you can do about it... just learn from the experience and move on.
