Refunding a buyer who complains late...

Sold and dispatched an item (value less than a tenner) six weeks ago. Never got feedback, never heard anything.

One week ago I checked my ebay and had a message from buyer saying item hadn't arrived and he had 'given me a month to post the item.'

As I hadn't heard anything (not every buyer leaves feedback after all) I didn't keep/lost proof of postage as thought it had arrived.

Anyway - sigh - promised to refund but had to transfer funds to my paypal. Explained this takes up to 7 business days to clear.

It's been 5 days and the buyer has sent me a 'am leaving you negative feedback etc etc' email.

I have written back to say 'it's coming, I told you it's coming' .

I know it's pathetic but I have 100 per cent positive feedback, and this is going to be ruined.

There's no way to pay him right now is there? Whilst I wait for ruddy PP to clear??

no - you need to refund the original payment via paypal - if you pay them the money back as a payment, they will get charged fees on it, and they could also claim back their original payment and end up being paid back twice.

oh and emails threatening neg feedback can be reported - go to help at the top and search feedback extortion and report from there.
