Ooo, I've got a watcher on my very first eBay listing put on last night Does this mean it might probably sell? I'm going to have to get some proper packing stuff together aren't I and be responsible enough to get to a post office on specific days if I'm going to keep this selling malarkey going.

it may sell or it may not - sorry bit of a duff answer.

Dh is the ebayer in our house (both buying & selling) and I know he watches items for a couple of reasons - either he is going to sell something similar and wants to see how it does, or he is interested in buying and wants to see how the bidding is going before he places a bid.

hth :)

Have just started a thread on a similar vein - it's really exciting isn't it?!

I've become a bit obsessed though... Blush

From a buyer perspective though I will watch certain items to get an idea of price eg how much are Quinny Buzzes going for before I start bidding. But not for other things like clothes - I'll bid initially for those and then they keep coming up in my history and I'll decide then whether to bid again - or I'll get a really good deal!

I don't think number of watchers always means you will have a buyer or lots of bids. Many watchers are rival sellers, curious or waiting for funds, or whatever.

I agree I will watch items to get an idea of what they go for, or to remind myself to buy that item at another date.

don't get too excited; I once had 35 watchers on an item and it still only went for £1.04
