Buyer no longer wants an item

Grrr just a moan really, I had sold something yesterday and was really pleased. The highest bidder was local so no need to arrange postage, etc which I needed a courier for as quite large. I had 16 people watching item and 5 bids (2 ebayers bidding). I have just had an email saying she no longer wants it.

I have offered it to the next bidder and I'm just hoping that they see the message and do still want the item. I'm so cross that she has only just sent the message. I still need to reply to the message saying she doesn't want it. Bad ebayer Angry.

She needs to agree to a mutual so you can get your fees back, the problem with that is if she doesnt agree you cannot open a non payment dispute. Then if it sells via the second chance offer you pay two lots of fees.

Unfortunately I wouldn't ask her to agree to a mutual, I'd go the non payment route on day 4.

Thanks FabbyChic

The person who I gave the second chance offer to has got back to me really quickly and said she does want the item (but can't pay until Wed - which is fine with me as long as she doesn't change her mind too). I didn't realise I'd have to pay two lots of fees.

I listed this on the free listing weekend last weekend, does this make a difference? The item originally sold for £78 and is now going for £76.

Being as I'm now selling to another buyer are you able to advise me on how I should respond to the original buyer re non payment of fees?

I'm fairly new to ebay so getting a bit confused.
