Grubby baby clothes

Apologies if this has been asked before.

I have bought a few bundles of baby clothes recently through Ebay. Bought myself a bundle of designer items the other day with the intention of selling on once my DS had outgrown them. They weren't cheap by normal Ebay standards. I paid £20 (Buy It Now price) for about 7 items.

They arrived yesterday and, although they have been washed, they are grubby. Several things have dirt ingrained in hems and knee areas and most look fairly tatty with pulled threads etc. Personally I wouldn't have sold clothes in that condition and certainly wouldn't have expected £20 for them.

I feel the seller raised expectations by asking for £20 for the lot.
In her listing she doesn't claim the things are in fantastic condition to be fair.

WWYD?

What did they look like in the picture? Do you have a link to the listing at all?

The listing doesn't mention anything about condition, other than that they're used, so I think it's a case of caveat emptor.

Yes, I thought it might be. Should chalk it up to experience I guess.

this isn't as clear cut as usual cases of receiving tatty clothes. Most other cases are where seller states they are in excellent condition and they are far from...
As there was no indication of condition other than used, it really should be the case that the buyer asks questions prior to bidding.
Assuming the condition to be fab based upon the price is probably something you won't do again :)
You could ask the seller if you can return them for a refund, although you will need to pay the return postage yourself. I really couldn't anticipate how the seller would respond as they haven't made any false claims and they have shown 2 good photos. You could open a dispute, but again in this case I couldn't say for sure that it will fall in your favour. If you can show some good photos of teh actual condition, this may help you.

As it was on BIN don't you have more rights to return or is that only if it's from a business seller?

I do hate this and usually if I'm interested I contact the seller to ask for a full list of condition. I hate "in used condition". I ask for seams, fading, bobbling etc. Usually it comes back good but recently I bought a pair of Boden cords which the seller sold as excellent but very worn (on last legs).

Usually if very expensive clothing is sold cheap then run a mile.

However, on the feedback, you cant say your opinion as she hasnt stated it but I would defo contact her first to say that you dont like leaving poor feedback on the condition. Most people are kind apart from a recent one where my husband bought a machine that cost £4000 which was rubbish, the seller was abusive and then left e-bay!

Ebay should make a rule that condition she be listed in full but thats a matter of opinion I suppose.

I do hate disputes, as I get nervous on the reply but hey, its your hard earned dosh!
