I'm selling a bath seat, and someone's sent a message asking if I'll do a buy it now as they don't want to wait 2 days! 2 days! I have 2 watchers on it, what do you think I should do? I could do it for the average completed (£6),or wait and see if the winner is local so I get out of posting it. Kind of thinking it's bad ettiquette if someone else is watching?

Just explain that you think it would be bad form as poeple are watching. You could also suggest that you wouldn't know how much to charge for a buy now purchase, what would they suggest?

Good plan, it is daft as I wouldn't be able to post til monday anyway. I think it might have something to do with it being one of about only 3 pink ones on offer!

I always do it if I see something I want that has no bids.

I sold something I had relisted and expected to get 99p for for £10 the other day as the person was desparate for it and couldn't wait 3 more days! I was not expecting to sell it at all, asked what would be his best offer and when he said £10 I couldn't beleive my luck! I had no watchers so didn't feel bad doing that, but not sure I would if there were lots of people watching the item

I find it annoying to receive this question (although would answer politely!). If I was going to accept a Buy It Now price I would have put it on the auction.

If someone asks for a BIN price I take it to mean it's an item people will like and be interested in, so I'd let the auction run to the end.

Update: I sent a polite email saying no as there were a couple of watchers and felt it would be bad form to do so. Over the next two days the watchers numbered 9 and it sold for £11 plus postage. I was only expecting to get a fiver!

I did this recently as I was going on holiday and wanted to take the item with me, but the auction ended the day after I went away.

I also had it asked of me recently when selling an item I originally paid £15 for (2nd hand from a nearly new sale). I put it on auction, was asked for a buy it now price, looked at average sale price of others and put on a buy it now of £50, it was snapped up within minutes...

CHA-CHING! Grin

(was a little gutted I didn't put the buy it now at £60 Wink)
