Selling donated china for a charity

I would like to sell some beautiful china that has been donated to a charity that I am involved with. I have sold before, have 100% feedback & 4.9 for 'item as described'. However, I am worried that my items won't sell that well as I have never sold antique/quality china before so am not 'professional'. I will try to describe my items in the same way as the shops and dealers but has anybody got any other tips. I will put them on for 10 days & finishing on a Sunday eve (about 9 as Dancing on Ice will be on a break) I don't think I could start them at 99p as I usually do as the charity couldn't really take it if they went for that. Is there anywhere else I could sell. I have thought of auction rooms but not sure really. I have 10 items at the moment. I wouldn't worry so much if they were my own but feel very responsible to get the best price. I also thought of putting maybe one item first then hopefully getting good feedback before I put a couple more on. Any other ideas I can think about.

I'd pop along to your nearest auction room and ask their advice.
My local auctioneer is fantastic - and honest. If he thought you would do better on ebay he would say so. He would say what he thought the market is for your items and give good advice.

Remember that unless you send by special delivery china is not covered by normal postage costs so it could be expensive to send.

Are you sure Fabby, it's just that looking on the Royal Mail website I cannot see anything about that though I could be missing it. I thought Special Delivery was for very expensive items (over £40 but less than £2500) There are also lots of pottery/china shops who post first class (with chippings, bubble wrap & box). Royal Mail do say to get 'Fragile' sticker & pack well.Smile My items would be under £40.
