Posting Internationally what are the risks?

I have listed an item as post to UK only. Have been contacted to reconsider posting to the Netherlands. Should I do this? If I do, what are the risks and how do I mitigate? The item is a £££ dress.

I always say yes if they are polite enough to ask. You need to use the RM website to check your postage costs, and decide whether to send it tracked.

There are no more risks to the Netherlands than sending to UK, it's not a 'scam hotspot' as far as I'm aware.

If the item is v expensive, definitely send it tracked to save a lot of trouble in the long run - you charge it back to the buyer anyway. Netherlands very low risk.

The trouble is that the item apparently isn't always tracked when it enters another country but it may depend on the country (we had an issue at work when sending something to Russia for example)

never had a problem there but i refuse to send to Czech Republic or Malaysia now.

Thank you. I will say yes and if she wins she will have to pay for the postage - international tracked.

OP i always inc a line on my listings to say that Int'l bidders must contact me first for P&P costs as i only post overseas using a tracking service.

i've had some arguments with bidders about this but i'm very firm about it - just not worth the hassle, but then i always post 2nd class recorded in the UK too Smile
