Well I sell on ebay and I am very meticulous sp? in what I sell I check everything and take big and extra pictures and I am proud of my great feedback the money I make pays for treats and stuff for my girls.

I sold a snow suit a couple of weeks ago and got this e- mail today. She obviously wants some kind of refund before she leaves me feedback is my reply adequate ? TIA

listing here here

Hi there,
I received this item last weekend so thanks for the quick postage. I wanted to message you before I leave feedback as there are a couple of issues that I want to raise.
I bought this item for my six month old to wear now as the item was listed as 6-9 months - it's actually 12 months according to the label and is unfortunately far too big. As it is a very cute suit however, I will keep it and hope that he can wear it next winter instead.
Also, there is quite a large hole in the left foot of the suit. I will sew this up, but it does leave me wondering how the suit can be described as BNWOT.
I will leave positive feedback in the hope that this was a genuine mistake, but based on the disappointment I felt on discovery of these problems, I do feel that I have paid way over the odds here.
Sorry to have to raise these issues and thanks again for the quick delivery.
Nicola

This is the message I am thinking of sending do you think that it is ok?
Should I offer her more or less I only listed as 6 - 9m because I know that french and european sizes are different and did not want some one buying an item that was too small :( . I think I should have been clearer in my listing.

*hi there,
I am really sorry to hear this and appreciate you letting me know.

The snowsuit was listed in good faith as 6 - 9 m as the label states 74 cm which french makes such as this L'enfant and catimini and poupinet class as 12 m.

but the english size 74 cm is 9 m ..68 cm = 6m ... 74cm = 9 m... 81cm = 12m ......86 cm =18 m and I did not want to sell something that would be too small for a 12 m old baby :(.

Everything I sell is double checked and as you can see from the pictures in the listing where the feet are clearly visible there is no sign of a hole at least on the outside but I never thought to check the inside as this was a present for my baby that had just been put in a drawer and never worn. It still had the kimbal on.

It cost about £20 new the postage was about £3.35 the packaging about 50p.
I am sorry that it is too big and the hole is a human oversight if I had seen I would have repaired and mentioned in the listing.

All I can do is apologise and offer you a partial refund of £3 which I will do when I next go into paypal.
yours sincerely Izzybelle.*

To be honest I would ask her for a photo of the hole first and compare to your photos. With regards to the sizing obviously you should have explained it in your listing but you're only human! I personally would offer a return and refund only option as if it's not right it's not right and if her child is 6 months now it'll be 12 months in August/September, or if s/he is 9 months now s/he would be 12 months old in June. Am I just cynical or does it really seem like she's trying to pull a fast one? There's no way the suit would have fitted now if it was the correct sizing and yet still fit next winter if it's 3 months bigger than you advertised (unless it's so cute she's going to make her baby wear it in the height of summer Grin ). As for the hole I'd definitely want photographic proof if you checked it thoroughly before you sent it.

It smacks of pulling a fast one if you ask me but if anyone disagrees please tell me, maybe I've been 'done over' too many times!

But if you really do want to give a £3 refund the letter sounds ok.

Please let me know what happens.

PS You've got some gorgeous girls clothes! I would bid on them myself, except...hmmm...I have a DS!! Grin

Is that book Toddler Taming any good? Love the way it falls open at Time Out, I'm thinking it's a sign!! Grin

Thank you Addicted ...
I know I am usually so careful about sizing I measure most things but this suit was brand new and I had listed it a couple of times.

I think I will just offer her the three pound and bite the bullet on this one, get my positive feedback and carry on :).

This is why I take extra pictures of the stuff I sell because I like to see what I buy so I try and show most angles.

Will let you know what she says.
Cheers jx

I don't blame you with offering the £3 refund, after all I guess it's worth it to keep your excellent record but I'd be so annoyed! Some people take the Mick don't they? My friend sold some McDonalds toys and sent them out in a plastic bag inside an old washing tablet box. The buyer said it was disgusting to send them in this way. eBay agreed with him and gave him a full refund!! Angry
I hope everything goes well.

SNOWBall4girlz · 04/03/2011 19:50

I know I have had a few in the past :)

This is annoying because its not the wrong size really it was hardly any bigger than the 3- 6 m suit I sold. It is french and they come up small.

Plus the pics ..That is why I take so many pics I am sure there was no hole definitely not a large hole but I cannot say that because its makes out that the buyer is exaggerating Hmm.
