I'm gutted - I've just received my first negative feedback - and it was my 800th feedback tooo :(
It was from someone with a feedback of 2, and this is teh 1st feedback she's ever left - grrrrr!
It was for this item - she said I had supplied false information. [http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330513896679]

It's really spoilt my day.

Poor thing. I have looked at the item and it seems as described. Either contact the buyer and say you are sorry that she felt the shoes were not as described and if she had contacted you first you could have resolved the matter more satisfactorily.

I would put a reply to the feedback of something like "buyer never informed me of a problem, shoes were described accurately."

It is horrible when you have a transaction that goes horrible, but you have glowing feedback otherwise so I'm sure other bidders won't be put off.

how annoying, they look brand new too, did they contact you at all?

NappyShedSal · 14/01/2011 20:14

No, she didn't contact me first. So I sent her this message:

Hello, I see that you have left me negative feedback. I have 802 positive feedbacks and this is my first negative!! I can assure you that the shoes were only worn a couple of times - you can see from the inside of the shoes that they are almost perfect. The soles are not worn down at all - obvioulsy worn to and from the car to each party but that's all. Never worn outside (except for getting into teh party). But I did say that some of the glitter had fallen off - this happened even when we first got them home. I would rather you returned them for a refund, or contacted me first before leaving negative feedback. I am happy for you to return them as I feel that they were accurately described. Sally
and she replied with
hello, yes i did leave you negative feedback and i stick to what i say and in future i will ring the seller before i leave negative feedback so i do apologie. i have decided to keep the shoes That's when I relaised she must be new to ebay as you don't phone people! I have now sent her the ebay form asking her to withdraw her feedback but she hasn't replied since.

that answer sounds slightly sarcastic! to be honest if she doesn't reply, i'd just leave it unfair as it can be.

do a factual follow up like - buyer didn't contact me before leaving feedback

I think a lot of new ebayers don't know the ropes and have a completely false idea of what ebay is all about.

I had a neutral from a first time ebayer who complained that my parcel took "some time" (6 days) to get to her. The fact that I posted it the day after she paid was not, apparently, relevant. Nor was the fact that I only charged her £4 for postage but the actual cost was £7 and to add insult to injury, had included a lot of extra (free) items in her bundle - was feeling generous and had had a wardrobe sortout!

I would respond with something like "Shoes described accurately, buyer refused refund and did not contact me prior to leaving f/b". Although you probably don't get enough space for that.

NappyShedSal · 15/01/2011 22:45

Yeah, she's revised her feedback to positive - my reputation is still untarnished!!
