I have just put in a dispute with ebay/paypal. My son bought a lotsobear from ebay. We werent really aware of how small it was until it arrived. It can sit in your hand!! We thought it might be bigger as we were charged £6.25 p&p!!! When the item arrived it cost £1.40 to send recorded delivery and the envelope must have cost about 50p! I cant believe we have been charged so much!! I contacted the seller and had no response. I am happy to send the item back. He has left some unpleasent responses to feedback when people have complained before! I will have to report him if he is rude to me won't i? I have given him negative feedback already and told him im going to report him to ebay! Hope I have done this right!!

You can't complain about the p&p charges now if they were clearly stated - it's very bad form. He may have needed to catch a bus to the post office, you don't know.

He over charged me over £4 though!! Hmm

You can't be overcharged for p+p if it was what was stated on the sale, if it was high then you didn't need ot have bid.

lottiejenkins · 11/01/2011 09:56

I thought the item might be larger........ anyways i'll see what the seller says. If he wont budge then it will be lesson learned on my part!!!

Always check measurements on items. People make a bit of extra money by over charging the postage. You didn't have to bid and the postage would have been quoted.

malovitt · 11/01/2011 09:58

He didn't overcharge you.

The charges were shown as £6.25 and you chose to buy from him and have the item posted to you at that price.

You can't complain about it now.

Do your research by checking p&p on similar items first next time.

Thanks for your responses. Will have to be more careful in future!

As others have said, it is not just the postage you pay for.

There is the packaging. The envelope. The listing cost of the item are often included. Even for their time of having to go into town to find a blardy Post Office.

When I sell on eBay I do make sure that all my "costs" are included. Though I do spell this out in the listing description, and do try to keep it fair.

You did, unfortunately, agree to these by hitting the "buy" button.

Put it down to experience.

classydiva · 11/01/2011 11:09

YOu will lose any dispute as how can it not be as described when there were no measurements on the listing?

I doubt you win a dispute to be honest.

You were overcharged but, as it was stated what the delivery cost was on the listing you agreed to pay that when you purchased the item.

A good seller will only charge what it costs to send, I do, I do not make a charge for packing materials, or shoe leather that should really be incorporated into the item cost.

Lesson learned for next time, oh and I would have left a neg too.

PaisleyLeaf · 11/01/2011 11:10

Maybe you paid for him to get a taxi to the post office.

lottiejenkins · 11/01/2011 11:14

He has agreed to me returning it, he has however been very rude and agressive in his replies to me so i have reported the emails too!!
