Is it worth e-baying a tonne of children's clothes?

Boys & girls, winter & summer, lots of Gap/Baby Gap/Boden & a few Timberland bits. Is it worth the hassle - esp maybe putting summer clothes on in January? My cupboards are full and I really really need to do a clear-out so it's either e-Bay or charity shop.

Thanks

Age range, please?

Branded stuff in good condition yes. Cheaper stuff eg George/primark doesn't tend to go or won't sell for much. Take all that to the charity shop :)

Nope don't think it is worth it.

Have tried on several occasions with very good clothes (tommy hilfiger, Gap, Ralph Lauren, Boden, etc). Tried different methods (job lots, single items, outfits) and I never make any money after fees and postage. I have actually made a loss several times and come out worse. Not only that I have also had to deals with several non-payers/time-wasters.

Now all stuff goes to NCT, Freecycle, Charity shops and friends with babies.

send it to me Grin

Oh it's the hassle of it that puts me off. I did it a few years ago and actually did okay but now there's so much stuff.

Okay, there's girls stuff - probably 12-24 months, maybe some 6-12 months, not sure.

Boys will mostly be 5-6 or thereabouts.

I would be tempted to bundle it up in bundles and see how you go.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 02/01/2011 21:47

Keep the summer stuff and put it on in Spring! You could always see if anyone on here wants it if you don't have the time / inclination. Gap & Boden normally sell ok though.

Thanks all. Shall sort out to see what's there and then decide.

Do it! I made over a £100 selling some of my son's stuff before christmas. My advice is don't bundle it, more hassle I know but you end up getting more money individually. Good luck!
