A couple of friends have asked me to sell stuff on ebay for them, I do it fairly regularly and they basically can't be bothered/have no IT skills. I said I would for a % of the selling price (am skint so any extra would be handy). What do you think would be reasonable bearing in mind I will do all admin, photos, posting etc but will also have to pay ebay fees? We are not talking 1,000's of pounds, a few hundred at most. Thanks!

I sold some stuff for my cousin. From whatever was made, minus the postage costs, insertion and final value fees, we went 50-50 on the profit. Listing and posting is all time consuming.

Im aware of a company that do 50/50 for ebay sales.

By getting paid for listing you will have to register as a business seller and notify the Inland Revenue of your additional income.

So you will be paying tax on your earnings and paying Class 4 National Insurance.

OP
have a look at my id on ebay - my me page has a lot of the information you need

Yikes - thanks so much for the info but I am actually horrified to think I would possibly have to do all this just to sell a second hand wedding dress and a few other bits! Maybe it would be better just to car boot it.
