Question regarding giving a refund

Hello,

this is a quick one, a package hasn't turned up at a buyers house. I'm going to give them a refund, do I refund the full amount including postage or do I just refund what they paid for the item?

Thanks

The full value, including the P+P. Whether you refund original P+P is only a debateable issue when they have a faulty item, usually.

Assuming it's a low value item or insured for the sale price, you should be able to claim the purchase price, as well as actual postage(which is likely to be a little lower than the total they actually paid, anyway), from RM. Are you sure you've given Royal Mail long enough to deliver? (I presume you have posting receipt?!)

A good seller would refund all costs, a business seller is legally obligated to refund in full including initial postage.

If your buyer opens a dispute they get a full refund of what they initially paid.

If your buyer opens a dispute it counts against your seller performance, too many dispute opened results in your account being restricted and subsequently suspended.

Fair enough, I didn't know what was standard practice. I've issued a full refund.

Should get you positive feedback too! which helps!

Yeah, that's true. I know that I think very highly of sellers who resolve problems satisfactorily.
