but this item is faulty bought it over the weekend the button hole is fraying and not even took the label off yet. Super fast delivery btw.

It will go in a big hole and ruin the coat and is not repairable :(

but I do not want to keep a faulty item and the seller says no returns not e-mailed them yet though
I am happy to pay the return postage and lose that does the seller have to take it back?

I have e-mailed the seller this hope they are ok with this.

I am really sorry but I have to return this item.

I have just tried it on my daughter and when I fastened the top button the button hole is fraying and there are loose threads.
I am happy to send it back recorded postage I guess that you never noticed but it is a fault that will get worse if worn resulting in a hole. I am gutted it is a lovely coat. Please let me have your address so I can post it back best regards me

They have to accept a return and refund. It doesn't matter what they put on the listing.

SNOWBall4girlz · 18/10/2010 16:54

I thought so but it nice to be reassured.

I got it this morning its lovely but the top button hole is frayed and will get worse they cannot say she has worn it because only got it today.

I dont like sending stuff back :( but it is faulty.

can you not sew it? I know that is besides the point, just wondered seeing as you do like it! I have had crappy button holes like this before, where they haven't been finished properly

SNOWBall4girlz · 18/10/2010 17:13

no is like the threads are too short
then they are interwoven and the stitching is loose on both sides :(

'No returns' just means the goods aren't supplied on approval. You can still return if there's a fault. Make sure your parcel has to be signed for when you send it back, then they can't claim it was lost in the post.

piscesmoon · 18/10/2010 20:19

I put 'no returns' when I sell because I am not a business and they must want them if they buy -however-if there is a problem of course I accept returns. It just isn't acceptable to return because it doesn't fit or they don't like it-if in doubt don't buy.

SNOWBall4girlz · 21/10/2010 11:56

The seller has replied and has said to send it back but she says that she des not refund the original postage.
I e-mailed and said she is obliged to under ebay rules and I am sending it back second class recorded.

Thank you for your replies :)

The rules are not Ebays rules but the Distance selling regulations
(there is a link from my ebay me page that I do not know how to attach to this site)
BUT
they only apply to business sellers
private sellers should have the goodwill to do so but cannot be forced
especially if they are selling their own second hand clothes

maxybrown · 26/10/2010 12:23

no orignal postage should be refunded! If she claimed through PP that is what would be refunded - not return postage though

HoneyIatethekidsdragon · 26/10/2010 21:40

I always put no returns too. But anything I sent mistakenly that had a fault I would accept return and refund.

However on the two occassions I have had to to return items I genuinely believed not to be sent as faulty deliberately I advised them I would pat return costs, because its a private agreement. Daft, I know but I like the community feel ebay has.
