Bought nightgown, wasn't as described. Much larger hole (6mm) in it when it was described as 'tiny moth holes'.

Seller offered refund. I sent it back recorded delivery (to cover myself) and she is claiming that there are now further marks on the item due to 'damaged packaging' and that ebay have said that I have to 'take it up with Royal Mail'.

Seller has not described if the item is damaged in any way.

I have opened a case in ebay and paypal asking for a reduced refund (I would lose £3) to cover if she wanted to wash it.

I think I have been fair Confused, what do you think?

did ebay tell you you have to take it up with RM or did she just tell you that?

Lauriefairycake · 13/10/2010 11:04

She just told me that. She has now fully refunded me (minus the P&P for me to send it back to her) and is now asking that I send her proof of postage (it was sent recorded so she has the recorded delivery package) or to take it up with Royal Mail myself - how can I, I don't have the package?

Now it's somewhat 'resolved' what feedback do you think I should leave?

the contract with RM is between sender and RM - in this case you so it really should be you that makes a claim for the damage.
To be honest, she sounds like she really doesn't know what she is doing and is telling fibs here and there in the hope of getting some money back.
If you have kept your receipt from the PO you can offer to send it to her seeing as she asked for it.

I wouldn't say this is entirely resolved so I'd hold on re the FB just for now

Ok, but am I sending her the receipt from the post office as a 'goodwill gesture' or can I be held to account for it - in which case I would send it recorded delivery.

So that would be 2 things I had sent to her recorded delivery at a total cost of £5 which I'm not getting back.

tbh regarding ebay, she can't do anything to you now.
you are right - sending it to her is a goodwill gesture.
