Buyer won't collect - best thing to do?

I just sold a fairly bulky item on ebay, I had stated collection only as I don't have the necessary materials to pack it properly for posting and didn't want the hassle of postage.

It sold and now the buyer has just emailed me saying he didn't see that it was collection onle (despite me stating it clearly in the description AND in the postage field) and could I just "pop it in the post to him and add it to his bill? Sorry about the inconvenience"....

The fact is that if I had been prepared to post the damn thing I probably would have got a lot MORE for it. Can I just cancel the transaction? I've never had to do that before so wondering if anyone has any advice??
Thanks!!

You can cancel. You stated collection only so that is fine.

As you say if you'd wanted to post you would have got more.

Personally I would cancel the transaction.

I've never had to cancel at the end before but I have cancelled bids before from someone who messaged asking if I'd post abroad then bid after I had said no. Confused

How do you cancel a transaction? Is that the option to "make a second chance offer" or something?

Sorry, thanks for your help!!

i would just reply saying no, sorry, it clearly states collection only.... you never know, they might be able to get it

bump - just wondered if anyone has cancelled a transaction before? I think I go through the resolution centre?
Thanks!

yes, it's through the resolution centre. Message your buyer and tell him you will be doing this and ask him nicely to complete his side of the process.

Thanks so much for the help!

Seems like the resolution process is for when the seller can't complete the sale rather than the issue being with the buyer, hopefully we'll get is resolved!
