Would you give a refund?

I sold a clothing item on ebay and recieved neutral feedback, stating item not as described. The buyer did not contact me to try to resolve the issue.

I emailed the buyer asking what was wrong with item and she said it was not in very good condition as I had described.

Now the item had no marks/frays/ buttons or zips missing. It wasnt even discoloured.

It had obviously had been worn/used and not in excellent condition and that is why i stated very good used condition.

She has already left neutral feedback and then after that asked for a refund. Would you give a refund in this situation.

I am really upset as I know the item was in great condition and she has ruined my feedback without giving me a chance to respond.

You used to be able to respond to the feedback left on ebay. Can you not do this now?

Ask her to send photos of the areas which are a problem, and if they ARE there then give a refund, otherwise either don't give one at all or ask if she wants to return it and you will then refund the money.

You can respond to the feedback left and you can also ask for ebay to remove it if you resolve this situation.

If she buyer is not happy she should return the item at her own expense via trackable means so you can inspect it and then issue her refund. Block her from bidding on anything else you sell.

Ask her to return the item so you can check the security marks you have made (she isn't to know there aren't any) so you can be sure she has returned the same clothing item you sent. She may well own the same item that she has ruined and has bought yours as a replacment. This may act as a deterrent.

Of course there is nothing to stop her spoiling the article in question on purpose.

I would ask for its return and once you have it refund her less postage. It will be a weight off your mind.

Alternately seeing as she has given you neutral feedback already, just refuse! Cheeky mare.

I believe ebay would be interested to hear that she might change her feedback if you do refund her....

Unfortuantely, feedback already left has no bearing on subsequent cases opened.

I could leave glowingly positive feedback for something then a week later decide acually i dont like it and as a buyer ebay will always (99% of the time) find in the buyers favour.

Of course people do spoilt things on purpose just to get cash back but usually as soon as they find out they have to fund the postage costs to return they usually change their minds.

no i wouldn't stick to your guns and repeat what was said when listed. what feedback do you have against hers ? if you have good feedback and she doesn't then that is more power for you if it goes to dispute. She can't retract the feedback so i would not issue the refund.

Can anybody help me ??- i have just sold a perfectly good pram on E-bay which is in great condition i stated on the description that it was used and there were scratches to the frame as it had been in storage, Now the buyer is saying the pram was filthy (i washed before i posted) and the seat unit was full of crumbs even though i have only ever used the carry cot on the pram which is a Mamas and Papas Herbie, I am really panicking now because my paypal account has been placed on hold and they would like a refund , i dont have the money to refund or the time to accept a return as i am in the middle of moving house, i would never sell anything that i would never ever be happy to receive myself - Please any input would be great Confused
