Eating Disorders Resource Thread. Please feel free to add more resources:

Eating disorder 5 part workshops for parents and carers. This is a free service, and ask for charitable donations if at all possible:
https://charliewaller.org

The New Maudsley clinic. This is an NHS clinic:
Lots of information for parents and carers on this page
https://newmaudsleycarers-kent.co.uk

This is Jenny Langley, who wrote the workshops and works with the Charlie Waller Trust. She has extensive experience of both helping parents and has a child (now adult and fully recovered), who went into in patient care. Jenny is the one, who runs the monthly meetings for parents and carers as well as a series of topical workshops (eg compulsive exercise, autism and ED, bingeing and purging). Her email details are on this website. Contact her to be added to the mailing list.

Beat. Also a charity. This is another service, which offers training and support. I haven’t attended their workshops and they sound very helpful as well. They have an open support line, which can be a little difficult to get through. When you do it is worth the wait for a friendly, caring voice. There, they will listen, support and take your email address, signposting you to parts of the website offering further information.

Books:

Eva Musby - Anorexia and other eating disorders:
Written by a mum, who used this method to get her tween dd to recovery. This is aimed at parents of children, rather than adults and it can be highly effective. In my personal experience, this is for kids. But definitely worth pursuing for parents of tweens and early teens, maybe beyond for some.

I don't have much to add in terms of resources but I want to recommend the Beat Developing Dolphins course. I'm also signed up for their one to one parent coaching. I'll come back and update when it starts.

Signing in for all advice and help.

Thanks @Mummyoflittledragon

I am a reader and have read lots of the resources. DH is less of a reader, and I need him to gen up a bit more so I'm not managing/ teaching him as well as managing DDs recovery. He's willing to try, but what have people found most useful when someone isn't a big reader?

We're 6 months in to DDs recovery, she's weight restored ish with ups and downs, but quite rigid still on what she'll eat, so it's less stuff on the early stages more on the nudging out of the trenches!

Can I recommend Richard Osman's podcast on how do you cope? I also found Marya Hornbacker's book Wasted very interesting as a glimpse of the mindset, although I'd google it before reading as I am sure its triggering for some

Thanks for the resources!

I’m just adding Laura Hill’s Ted Talk

This is several years old, but really informative. She describes what it is like for a sufferer of ED and the food noise.

MEED CHECKLIST: Showing this to a medic not trained in ED may be useful in medical emergency situations. It tells them what they should be doing when a patient is heavily restricting.
