We are getting nowhere within the NHS and CAMHS. Had anyone any recommendations for ARFID treatment in the North West?

Not so much treatment as there is no ‘cure’ but we have seen CAMHS for my DD. She was seeing a dietician every few weeks to monitor her height & weight, she also saw a psychologist (in training) whilst she was awaiting CBT, the psychologist would see her every two weeks I think it was, I felt like although it didn’t make any massive changes, it did keep her on the radar if her weight was to drop & also for my DD I felt like it was a reminder to keep trying to change as it’s so easy to continue to eat what she has always eaten & seeing people at CAMHS would give her a kick up the bum every now & again, she eats a wider variety than she did before attending CAMHS… is that down to them or is that due to her age & maturity & her being able to logically reason with herself.. who knows but we’ll take whatever victories, big or small. How old is your child?? We are in the West Midlands

We were only offered weekly appointments with the GP by CAMHS to get DD weighed. I refused as DD isn't refusing food through concerns about her weight. When she has a food she enjoys and it feels safe, she will eat a fair bit of it.

She's a bit stressed right now so seems to be surviving in mainly pizza and chocolate cake.

I’ve been trying to get ds help for ARFID for over 10yrs now. We had some sessions with Barnardos 5 years ago and they got him eating cucumber and pizza but it’s been so hard.
We've been turned down by CAMHS every time despite him being seriously underweight, I’d be interested in how others got accepted to them.
I’m on a facebook support group and most people there go private to Gillian Harris, food refusal service in Birmingham.

Not sure where to turn to now , been told he doesn’t meet the criteria for ARFID because he’s ASD and the right height / weight for his age but he diet is massively restricted , he avoids certain foods etc . But yet they tell me to get a 1-1 for school lunch times to ensure he eats ..

@ScoobyBooby I'd try starting your own thread in the SN section.

Have you been put in touch with The Birmingham Food Refusal Service tooo*?
