@summertimesadness24 we add a 300 ml pot to a 4 pint bottle. We built it up slowly over 1-2 weeks to that level so DD wouldn't notice the taste difference

I agree to build up slowly.
If she likes museli or granola you can add ground almonds easily to those, again build up slowly. Also good in porridge.

summertimessadness24 · 20/03/2024 15:08

Thank you, since doing the two big spoons in a glass she's not noticed but good idea with adding to the milk
She's done a 300ml one now in just a few days so since Sunday

@summertimessadness24 Like you, a year or so ago I tried adding double cream all at once into DD's cereal but unfortunately I was caught 🙄 DD now insists on total control or it's not eaten. I should've gone gradually so hopefully it's not too late for you now.

Hope this works for you too @WoodenTrain

Oh no!! I definitely didn't start gradually but she has accepted it just adding two tablespoons so think I'm ok 😊so far anyway!
When I was stirring in the cream I felt
Like I was drugging her lol
When I was meal planning earlier I did ask her what we should have next week many requests etc and she requested Mac cheese, lasagna and when I suggested pizzza one night she didn't seem bothered so the fact she's now asking for that and Mac cheese was the one dish she was refusing last month she's come a long way
And I can add double cream to Mac cheese easily and to the lasagna white sauce
Just have to remember to separate them this time 😂

@summertimesadness24 when I make a white sauce for lasagne or a cheese sauce for macaroni I don’t do a roux anymore, I simply use double cream and grated cheese - you don’t need lots of cheese as it thickens very easily. If it’s too rich and cheesey add a bit of lemon juice to cut through the heaviness.

BagpussSaggyOldClothCat · 21/03/2024 09:16

I do the same NotDonna and I use mild cheddar as can get a lot of it in the sauce without it tasting too cheesy.
I also get quite a bit of unsalted butter into the meat sauce. It blends in a lot better than olive oil.

I'll try that, so no milk at all?

NotDonna · 21/03/2024 11:11

Zero milk. Purely cream and grated cheese. I use a mild one then can put more in!

Fab, will try that thank you x

NotDonna · 21/03/2024 11:35

Once it’s in a lasagne they don’t know that it’s not proper white sauce.

@summertimesadness24 91.42%wfh

We've had a weigh today and we've had a small gain 😊44.6 so I'm wondering if you can put it through the wfh calculation you have if you don't mind ?
I'm assuming it won't be too much of a difference but I'm happy it's a gain in 6 days

summertimessadness24 · 21/03/2024 13:31

@Curlyhairedassasin

Thank you, 🙏 wow it really does make a difference
It's nice to know that all this hard work makes a difference
Plus we had a really positive FBT session today and a drs review
Still blind weighing which seems to be key x

Curlyhairedassasin · 21/03/2024 16:36

@summertimesadness24 is brilliant when FTB works. DD hasn't put on weight in a long time and appears completely treatment resistant, FTB is just causing violent outbursts. but so good to see it works for you!

Sorry to hear this - could it be that ED is rattled. We had this when ED was strong

summertimessadness24 · 21/03/2024 16:49

And to add this is the 3rd therapist and we seem to have a good fit
The system itself isn't great but we do like our new lady which I think helps

Mumofellie · 27/03/2024 17:57

Hi, my 14y/o son is currently in hospital, feeding via NG tube - his CAMHS ED team are saying they can’t begin meaningful psychological support until he restores weight (currently 42kg) yet he’s begging for help - his self loathing and sadness is off the scale and I’m feeling so overwhelmed, I can’t ever see an end to this nightmare. I just need to hear from anyone who can relate - thanks 🙏🏻
