Hello,
Long time lurker on this board and have been silently reading.
Never had the courage to post but seeking some help today.
Teen DD has issues with body image and low self esteem due to being quite overweight.

We have been to the GP who told has referred her to Dietician and counselling which have just started.
We eat healthily at home and have treats as I think its pointless to go cold turkey.
School eating was an issue but we are monitoring spend by putting very little money.
However DD helps herself to things from the kitchen and this morning I found an entire pack of biscuits, cake sprinkles and marshmallows in her cupboards. I normally don't open her cupboards but today have the cleaners and there was a ton of stuff left out in her room so had to put things away.

I have taken stuff away but I don't know what to say to her or do.
During Christmas she helped herself to her brother's chocolates after finishing hers.
Her brother came to me with request to hide his stuff which made me feel so sad for both of them.
When she was in Y4, she helped herself to the teacher's cakes. She did get caught out and we had a talk with the teacher and tried to help her not much came out of it back then.

Do I say nothing to her this evening? She is increasingly becoming withdrawn and I cannot reach her.
Us confronting her will surely cause more angst
I don't know what to do :-(
I feel so sorry for her.

Is she interested in cooking /baking? Shop for healthy ingredients only and let her get busy. No treats at home... Ds won't be killed by a healthier brownie either!

She does like baking but I don't think she will like the idea of healthy baking.
Worth a try.
Thank you @Eastereggsboxedupready
