As simple as that really. Struggled with it since being a teenager. Sick of it. Normal weight but hate the up and down of binge eating then restricting to compensate.

The reason you don't like the feeling of it could in itself be a sensory issue. I agree, I'm either hungry or uncomfortable too, that's seeking or overloaded.

We're not all the same and maybe that explanation doesn't help you.

But routines - I've yet to meet a person with an eating disorder that didn't benefit from a strong routine.

That's interesting. I do think I don't tolerate hunger well compared to other people. Get very anxious or upset if hungry and no option of snack.

I am quite rigid when it comes to eating but I constantly change my mind. 3 meals and 3 snacks a good idea, then the next it's only 3 meals a day as I tend to binge on snack food. I just want a routine that I can stick to.

I didn't have any dessert with dinner tonight and I don't feel like I want to binge. I wonder if it's that I'm craving it because I'm eating it all the time.

Avoiding ultra-processed food works for me. Some snacks marketed as healthy are ultra processed so trigger the same response as junk food.
When I was pregnant, making snacks that had carbs, protein and fruit or vegetables helped a lot, but the cravings definitely came from a different place then.

What kid of snacks did you have?

Has anyone had any success with Patrick Holford?

Brain over binge by Kathryn Hansen - book, website, podcast.

This!
Changed my life.

Patrick Halford started great but seemed to me, to morph into supplements and ironically highly processed foods. I was looking for a solution which did not invoke becoming dependent on a food supplement.

I do avoid processed food, mostly because my blood sugar control is not great. Avoiding sugar and starchy carbs keeps me off the blood sugar rollercoaster where my brain stays to think I'm going to die if I don't eat.

I'd agree. I mostly ignore the supplement information but I do like the dietary advice.

Low carb/keto is the only thing that has helped me, as the hunger/cravings just go
