Weather warming up but, as always, I’m so cold. Cold to the bone.

16.5bmi. I eat decently and I have fair bit of energy. But bloody hell, I’m always cold. Trying to put on weight and achieving slowly but just wish I could jump Forward. would love to wear t shirts in this weather rather than still in vest, jumper and Cardi

Anyone in same boat?

How are your iron levels? Could you try & boost them, thinking of ways to improve your circulation without burning extra calories.

Sodamncold · 02/05/2020 11:54

Had results back from iron levels last week! All normal

Yes, I have to wear 4 layers every day - vest top, long sleeve basic top, jumper, second jumper. And I sometimes wear tights under my jeans. And I still get cold and my nails go blue. Worst thing about eating disorders I think.
Sometimes the only thing I can do to get warm is have a shower.

Sodamncold · 02/05/2020 13:07

Hot shower... I have mine scorching
Constantly asking my children “are you cold are you cold?” They look at me, wearing t shirts utterly baffled!

I make sure I have a hot meal at dinner and always a bowl of porridge before bed (I’m trying to gain) and I feel warm whilst eating them and drinking hot drinks but then the creep begins

I wear thermals all the time, even in summer. Hot water bottles on my feet and wooly hat on my head at home - I find if I can keep feet and head warm then generally I can warm
up before getting cold to the bone. It’s utterly miserable isn’t it.

Sodamncold · 16/05/2020 13:15

The worse is when I get out of the shower and have to get dressed. The fear!

Have never had an ED and I feel for you Flowers but I used to work outdoors in winter and had to stand still for hours - I recommend tights under jeans/trousers, big socks on top of the tights, and those hand warmers that you put in hot water and then snap to release the heat - they can go in your pockets/belt/under bra straps anywhere really, not just in your hands!

Sodamncold · 16/05/2020 13:21

Thanks!
No ED here but just very underweight due to recent illness.
Atm I’m wearing merino wool vest, jumper, cardigan.

And it’s 17 degrees here!

Could be hormone related.

Fanthorpe · 16/05/2020 13:36

Warm up your extremities if you can, really warm socks and slippers, with a thick sole. Make sure your wrists and neck are covered.
I hate being cold, so I feel for you.

TheOrigBrave · 20/05/2020 12:35

Maybe ask on general health if you don't have an ED.
