What would you say is a healthy weight to aim for?

I am 22, 5 ft 6 inches and 109 lbs. I am technically underweight (couple years of restricting too much has led me here) and feel I should gain a bit but am not sure what to aim for. I don't have anyone to talk to about this and would love some input from real people. Any help would be great :)

I'm the same height but 40. I'd aim for 55 kilos. I am that and people say I'm very slim. But not too thin. My BMI must be late 19s to early 20s I think.

I'm interested what others think.

The BMI chart (which I know has its failings) says 115lbs is the lowest in your ‘healthy’ range for your height. Could you aim for that and see how you feel?

I was told to aim for minimum BMI of 19 by a dietician.
When under the care of my local ED team they suggested 54kg at 5ft 5, which is 19.8 BMI.
Below 19 seems to mess with your hormones/periods etc IME.
I was mid 40s when I started restricting and it has caused early menopause and osteopenia, not much fun.

Thanks Fennybridges. That's useful, and that doesn't seem like too intimidating a goal.

Amymel, thank you for your help. I used to be happy enough at 115 - reaching that again is a good start :)

Trickyex, I'm sorry to hear about your experiences and thanks for sharing that. I'll keep it in mind and aim for bmi 19. Thanks again

I always aim to be in the top half of my healthy BMI range. Then you can afford to get food poisoning without looking emaciated. Doesn't often work though.
