Eating disorders

Is there a thread for supporting family members of those suffering with eating disorders?

Just that really. My sister has long standing anorexia and has begun to spiral into another crisis. I am trying to support her and my parents from a distance. Also trying to hold down a full time job and bringing up 4 DC's - one of whom is super stressed about impending GCSE results and new school, another about to start GCSEs and another starting secondary school. My DH works away in the week.
Feeling completely over loaded and wanted to chat to someone who might just 'get it'

Sounds like you have a lot to deal with @feelinglosttoday Thanks

I don’t know of a thread for family and friends but there is a Helpline if that helps.

I totally get it OP. My DD has longterm anorexia. It's a devastating illness and impacts the whole family. It seems like our whole life revolves around the AN and what my DD needs. We seem to hit crisis point every so often and things get really serious and involves hospital admission. We just one of those points again. I hate this illness , it is relentless and exhausting. Hope you are getting some support.

Thank you everyone . Sorry to hear about your DD Blue.
My DSis is really struggling at the moment. Luckily we actually finally seemed to have hit upon a therapy team that actually have an overview of the whole situation and are treating more holistically.
None of this is helping by her being in an abusive marriage. She needs to leave but we all know it isn't that simple.
I feel powerless really and have to conserve my energies to keep the ship afloat here.

Hope the new team helps your Dsis OP
My DD is still in hospital - some slight improvement's but we've been here so many times now I know how the pattern goes. She can't help it - it's an illness - but nevertheless it's very hard relentless and frustrating. Have to look after ourselves as much as we can so that we can support them. Sorry to hear about your Dsis marriage not an easy situation for you all x

I relate entirely. My DS too has a 10 year sebere ED. Anorexia & BP type. I struggle juggling a business & an insufferable other situation with another DD (who also has children) deciding now woupd be a good time to become addicted to prescription narcotics. I have another DD who is straightforward & so far so good. Its so hard sometimes & so stressful over the years I've wanted sometimes to go somewhere else with a new identity & start a new life. I'd never leave my GC DS or DD though. Oh & i have a fab DH who withput him I think I'd be rocking in the corner wrapped in a blanket.
I honestly feel that a severe or SEED as they call it is the worst thing anyone couod be cursed with. Its bloody exhaustimg & takes everyone with it. I just keep going by trying to do things for me that i like doing. Like making things or cooking or just having a bath or soaking my feet. Hard with a young family OP but make time for YOU as you need a break mentally emotionally & physically xxxxx
