Reducing food 'stress'

Hi all, since the age of 17 I've really struggled with food and weight and body image and all things ED, and I'd love any advice relating to getting a bit normal around food
I've never been diagnosed with an ED but often massively undereat and have periods of overeating combined with excessive dieting and laxative abuse, it just feels all consuming to the exclusion of all else at the moment
I'm trying so hard to eat a decent amount each day, but inevitably overeat, and just really would prefer to reduce my intake and lose weight. My bmi is at the bottom end if normal but I just feel sooo uncomfortable in my skin, I feel horrendous having food in my system and 'miss' the empty buzzy feeling
It sounds quite disordered written down, but I think in reality it's quite a common way to be, and is perhaps just v extreme yoyo dieting
But any help improving body image, eating normally would be hugely appreciated ð???ð???

I think maybe your first stop should be your GP and be honest about your eating, then go from there.

If your bmi is the low end of normal you aren't over eating, you feel as though you are. Can you afford to get private therapy? In any case your best bet is to go to the GP and ask for a referral in either case. There are books on amazon about building self esteem and body image, you could post another thread asking about that as others may have better recommendations than I do.
