I've been to Gwynedd of course, and I've been proud donor / possessor of many a fine slate cheese board, but I hadn't appreciated the particular Welsh Slate landscape - how beautiful. Anyone involved in the bid? I'd love to visit those sites though not sure where to start

The Slate Museum in Llanberis is well worth seeing, and could be a good starting point.

If you don't mind a walk, I like visiting Rhosydd quarry on the side of Cnicht - amazing place where you can explore the old quarry buildings (obviously be aware it's an old quarry so check that what you're doing is safe - while people do go down some of the workings I would not advise anyone without experience to do so.)

I visited the slate museum when I was a surly teenager and didn't think much of it. I'm sure I would enjoy it more these days.

I think Wales has so much to offer as a tourist destination and North Wales is gorgeous.

I enjoyed the slate museum a lot, I always love a period cottage with some costumed volunteers!

Hoping this brings even more funding to the area, we love the landscape up there.
