Donor conception

Supported IUI?

Hello,

This is my first post. I am hoping to have my first IUI later this year (I have a fertility assessment in the next few weeks) and am planning on using donor sperm. I am single and 40.

I have read in previous posts about the National Fertility Society in Shrewsbury doing 'supported' IUI, which is much cheaper than at a clinic. Does anyone know if this is a service they still offer? The latest posts on here are from last year, but I have looked online and it isn't mentioned on their website, and the telephone number doesn't work!

If anyone has had experience of doing this (especially recently) I would be interested to hear your experience.

Thanks in advance :)

I am 38 and planning on trying iui in May. If it doesnt work after 1 try, I will move to IVF as will be nearly 39 by then. Best of luck also :)

I have had all the fertility assesments and things look fairly normal I gather. Amh of 10.5, Afc of 10. Tubes are open so who knows really will it work. I picked my donor a few months ago also.

That sounds really good, it is really great your numbers are looking positive! I had my assessment monday, I've got to wait for my blood results but I've got 14 follicles which Im pleased with! Did you find it hard choosing your donor? I'm finding it tricky. Which bank are you going to use?

14 follicles is v good. Im going with Cryos sperm bank. They show detailed profile descriptions and a few photographs also. It took me a few weeks to make the decision but am happy with it now. Best of luck with the blood test results.
