I am self representing and I intend to do the FDA on my own but I’m wondering if it’s worth getting a Barrister for the FDR. Our situation isn’t particularly straightforward. Large difference in ages and one party has paid for virtually everything That party being me i’m retired And are you still working?

Yes you should get a solicitor

Have you had any legal advice so far?

the fact one party has largely paid for everything is unlikely to be a material factor determining an outcome. Ages could be if you’re retired and they still have a long time to build up

If you are representing yourself I still assume you’ll need one…I could be wrong. I hired a solicitor but I also has a barrister for court. So I had both.

Yes absolutely get one of it's not straightforward, unless you can come to an agreement prior.

Yes - am a solicitor but in your situation would probably get a direct access barrister.
