Wikivorce for consent order? Anyone used?

I need advice on splitting assets. Ex has worked full time for years, now owns a big house with partner. I have worked very part time since children came along, still in marital home, worth about half of his property. No idea what he earns but his starting salary there in mid 00s was more than my FTE now.

I want a consent order to split finances but can't afford a solicitor. Has anyone used the wikivorce service to get advice on division of assets? It seems like a way to get the advice cheaply and then top up to pay for the CO.

DO NOT do a diy consent order or finalise without a solicitor! In some cases you can but in this instance you stand to lose a lot (or rather your children will). You can’t afford to NOT use a solicitor.

Wikivorce isn't a DIY - but they have a service for consent orders, which includes helping to work out a fair split, followed by a solicitor drafting a consent order. It's set up differently to going to a solicitor, and should work out cheaper with a way of spreading the cost. I'm after experiences of using so I can get proper advice.

We’d already agreed the split but have them doing the consent order. It is a solicitor doing it - I’ve got Brethertons - it’s just arranged as a fixed fee service through them.

his house may have a large mortgage and he might not own 100% of it so you’d need to understand that

also you need to understand value of his pension and yours

are there any dependent children ?

you should spend money on at least some legal advice to help you - and then you can do alot of form
filling and admin yourself.

what split of assets are you trying to get ?
