Can we split finances 50/50 before going through legally

I am very aware of the length of time it takes for a divorce to go through. I've put it off for years because we would have to continue to live together for as long as it took to finalise (say a year) before we could sell the house and split equity. I just cannot do that it would be unbearable.
My husband is due to come into a large amount of money that will work out roughly the amount our house is worth.
I own our house outright. But we are married of course.
If I kept the house and he kept the money and left immediately and bought somewhere with it would that be ok? And then start divorce proceedings afterwards? How would the financial order look in that case?
To be honest im not that bothered about getting divorced and there would be no rush then, I just want to be separated.
I know a solicitor wouldn't advise to do this but if it is literally 50/50 to the penny what would be the problem?

Where is your husband’s money coming from? If it’s inheritance for example then no, you can’t do 50/50 with that because you’re not entitled to it, so he would get his % of the house and also get to keep his inheritance.

That’s not correct.
op may not ‘automatically ‘ be entitled to it but it’s not automatically excluded either ( if in England /wales)

if op and ex agree this it would most likely be signed off

we sold our house and split finances way ahead of final divorce and consent order. Not recommended for all, especially in needs cases where there aren’t enough assets to provide fir both parties, or where a division might vary from 50:50 but we agreed 50:50 on house and to keep our own pensions and other assets each. We also knew we would both stick to that

Yes.

if you agree on the split you don’t need to use solicitors you can use a service like amicable.io

we did similar.
