i need some recommendation for a solid divorce lawyer in London/ north London. I have a very complicated financial settlement case where my husband is driving me crazy and my solicitors are not good at supporting me. Can anyone help?

You are your best advocate.

Represent yourself. Hire a barrister for negotiations in court. If you and your ex can't agree the figures the judge will decide. The judge will be fair. Your ex won't.

Depends on

i) how complicated - ie complex businesses, overseas assets etc

ii) how much assets

if it’s house /pensions/savings then yes you could do yourself
if it’s the above you’d need professional support

when you say your solicitor is not supporting you what do you mean ?

My solicitor is not on top of things. They always miss deadlines and miss out on important communication. I am fed up of chasing them and trying to get them to do stuff. He is also not very experienced. I hired a senior lawyer but they put this junior lawyer on my case and I feel he is incompetent.

It’s not too many assets. It’s just house, savings and a bit of pension. My husband has hired a fancy lawyer for in London and she is very good. They are being very petty about every expenditure I have done and have filed a conduct case against me for spending my own money recklessly. He has never earned or contributed a penny in the house.

It’s common and standard practice that your solicitor will assign work to a more junior solicitor or paralegal to assist /support them

even the most experienced you’ll end up having to chase ime

You can do a lot of it yourself
