Finalising finances

So H has accepted we are divorcing and has verbally agreed to a cheapest joint divorce method and I can have our small home in settlement of not touching his pension. He wants a clean break & unwilling to discuss finances as he is planning to move to another country.

We have been together 15 years, married 12, no children at home.

Has anyone used the online divorce services or found a cheaper way of seeking legal advice to process divorce please ?

Just check that you are not doing yourself a disservice with this arrangement. What is the CETV of his pension? You should know this before agreeing to any financial settlement, otherwise you don't have all the information you need to make an informed decision. The Court will need to know to sign off anyway I think as they don't want either party to be disadvantaged.

If you have always maintained your own pension, then getting the house from your ex who intends to leave the country might be the smarter move than chasing someone in another country and jurisdiction. But if you took time out of work to raise your joint children, then that would potentially leave you to an impoverished retirement.

Thank you both, his children were living with their mum when we met. And my daughter aged 6 was with us until aged 15. I don't know the value of his pension as he's always been very private and cagey. I've been working part-time, managing the home & doing most of running the house despite him retiring from his job 10years ago. I'll definitely be worse off as I'm on NHS wages. But I'll be happier and I can look for a full time job.

Is the house owned outright? Even so I would be wary of this being a good deal, my own personal pension is worth 500k to date, my house worth 2/3 of that.

you would probably be better off with half of each given his reluctance to share its value.

Thanks @TimeForATerf not going down that route as don't want to drag it out. But I am seeking advice.
