DH and I separated not three weeks ago. He’s still in our house, I’m trying to get him out and make arrangements for the children. He in the meantime has registered himself on tinder - I’m annoyed as I think it’s pretty disrespectful we’ve been married for 10 years, shall I say anything or just leave it? I found the registration email on his computer when I went to do a task on there earlier so he doesn’t know I know.

Christ, they’re all so fucking revolting aren’t they? Ugh.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 30/06/2024 17:06

Keep a copy/screenshot. Bank it for now. Confirms you've made the right decision to split. Don't rise to it and give him the satisfaction that you are upset/angry about it.

My mum and dad split after 46 years of marriage....3 weeks later he was online dating....whilst telling everyone how utterly heartbroken he was....

millymollymoomoo · 30/06/2024 18:42

I’d stay out of it

if tiu want him out you need to start divorce proceedings and financial settlement

focus on those

DaughterNo2 · 30/06/2024 18:45

Leave it. No longer any of your business. Still gross tho

mitogoshi · 30/06/2024 18:49

Who called the separation? Tge fact he wants to go on tinder isn't really any of your business. I signed up after a couple of months myself, after all if my ex had had enough, why shouldn't i have a look at least!

FlyingontheGround · 30/06/2024 19:24

Yeah, I’m not going to say anything and just stop feeling even a tiny bit sorry for him (he’s in a massive mess financially and has nowhere to live) and use this to push myself to get him out of the house and to divorce him.

If he’s in a big financial mess, that could impact divorce financial settlement …..

FlyingontheGround · 30/06/2024 21:29

It will @millymollymoomoo there will be no financial order, we have no shared assets and his debt is in his name.

Some men are so pathetic that the can't manage five minutes on their own. I'd bank it for now. Use it later.

millymollymoomoo · 30/06/2024 21:32

You should ensure you get a consent order even if no money /assets.

FlyingontheGround · 30/06/2024 22:01

What would that cover @millymollymoomoo I’ve seen a solicitor and they didn’t think I needed one but I might have misunderstood?

My ex did this about 2 days after I told him to move out. He started talking to other women from then on. We were still sleeping in the same bed.

You have to get a financial order otherwise he can potentially come after you in future for any assets.

Can he? Even after we’re divorced? I didn’t know this.

Yes he can. Get the financials agreement stamped by court. Insist on it.

Divorce is made up of three separate things. Dissolution of the marriage contract, finances, and children.

millymollymoomoo · 30/06/2024 22:50

If you don’t get a financial consent order he can make a claim on your assets at anytime in the future unless he remarries. Whether he’d be successful is another matter but there are cases of a spouse claiming money 10/20 years after divorce and being successful and why risk it ?

defo insist on it
