Form E and employment

Do I put my current employment with very low salary, or shall I wait and complete the form in September when I shall start new job and have a good salary?

Also, STBXH is saying that our shares in his company are worth nothing as the company isn't worth anything (2 or 3 years old). This doesn't sound right to me.

You do it as it stands currently, it can be revised if needed later. Private ownership companies are tricky to value and will need a specialist accountant to value (that was the advice I received).

You will need to appoint a single joint expert to value the business - most solictors work with them and can propose three. Then you and your H agree on which SJE to use. Its around £2K on average, bu definitely worth it, as although as PP says they are difficult to value, it will have a value that you will be entitled to.

Thank you. Sounds very confusing. I thought my STBExH would buy my half of the shares from me but he is saying they have no value so what's the point.

Normally you have a date by when you have to file the Form E, so you should abide by this - you could give your current salary and maybe * that it will change in September. If you dispute the value of the company/shares the Court can appoint an expert to assess the value (usually the cost of this expert is split between you)
