Divorce in Scotland - Financials

I divorced my husband and received the paperwork just before Christmas. We'd sorted the financials out ourselves, no children, both on second marriage. I now discover he hid a very large chunk of money in the form of shares so when we divided our assets I didn't have the full picture.

Is it true that a financial separation isn't required now in Scotland and that as we are divorced I have no recourse? Or can I now go back for the financial separation given the new information?

I'd really appreciate any help if anyone knows. Thanks

I don't know the answer, sorry, but you'd be looking at the increase in value of those shares between your marriage date and the date of separation, rather than their absolute value today.

He didn't have the shares nor the money when we married, he's stashed it away during our relationship so I would consider those funds as assets of the marriage. In other circumstances I would just leave it and I might still have to do that but I just thought I'd ask the legal position.

In that case, yes, those should have been included in the matrimonial pot. Hopefully someone will come along soon and advise you.

Divorce does bring out the worst in people! You have my sympathies.
