Advice regarding tax avoidance from my husband in a divorce

Hoping for some help .
myself and husband are going through a divorce.
however he committed tax avoidance which I was unaware of we have assets not a lot however he states I am liable to pay half . The mortgage was in his name and bills paid by him as he was the higher earner . Is this true if we go to court?

Surely it depends on the business set up? Business expenses come from the business por. If the business can't pay then it goes bankrupt. However there are other types of business where the finances are secured on assets eg your house

I dont think you would be in any way liable unless you were a director, but if he hasn't set this up well, the bill may come from the pot of family assets

That's not the case here though if the STBXH was self-employed as the OP states.

Going thru divorce just found out ex has undeclared business for over 20.years, I thought it was legit found out last week its unregistered and no tax ever paid
We at financial stage and he's refusing to include income from that business that's how I've found out, he's only declaring full time job wages, when.i confronted him he's threatened to.implicate me as cash from that business was paid into a joint account. I'm. Just a stay at home mom raising our child I had nothing to do w business ut he's saying I'm.liable as it was a joint account

Can ex gain access to my tax and benefit records ? Via a solicitor I thought they were private but ex being very underhanded
