I have received the below in regards to my divorce.

No financial order has been agreed and I do not have a solicitor as we were hoping not to need one (although it's not an amicable split).

Do I need to object to this hearing date until we have sorted the financial order?

Sorry for my ignorance. It was a very abusive marriage and I've put my head in the sand until now.

Thank you

I don't know what your full circumstances are but without a solicitor I couldn't have navigated my divorce with my abusive exh..the financial order alone was difficult. Yes it cost and had to come out of my final settlement but solicitor was vital.

It's impossible to advise you but I think you need a lawyer @cantgetabus.

If it is not an amicable split and you have received this without any explanation it sounds like you need proper advice.

Has he applied for divorce or you? You can obtain a decree nisi but you really shouldn't apply for the absolute until finances are settled. You can write to the court and tell them that there will be a delay because of that. I self repped and had to do this.

This is just the conditional order. Why are you panicking? this is just to say that you can get divorce.
Start the financial order asap and do not finalise the divorce before finishing with finances.

Agree with the above? This is the conditional order - you don't actually have to attend court? The financial consent order just needs agreeing prior to applying for the final order. If you don't want to use a solicitor then use Google to research terminology and timelines etc.

Thank you so much for explaining
