Hello, how easy and quick is a divorce? Me and my ex have been married for year we was still a bit immature and not ready for such a commitment.
we have no children together or financial ties or a home together.

how hard and long will a divorce be. Also will we need to attend court.

Go to link above to ADVICE NOW

the guides are designed for DIY divorce. They’ll tell you what you can do without solicitor, what you do need a solicitor for, and what you might need one for

given length of marriage, if you are amicable, you could get it done relatively cheaply in 6 months now (the minimum now) .

do not divorce without a financial agreement though. Even if you have nowt, or leave with what you put in. You can do a consent order where you agree, and get it sealed by court. That way you both walk with clean break and legally no future claims on each other (should one of you win lottery the day after your divorce🤷🏼‍♀️🤣)

a simple divorce, using these guides, cost us £1400 inc VAT in 2021. It’s possibly slightly higher no, but doesn’t have to cost a fortune, if you us solicitors just where absolutely needed. ADVICE NOW even gives you links to solicitors who will do just specific tasks you need

I shared the guides with my ex, so he knew and I knew processes, financial declarations pieces, “fair settlement” rules etc and knew we were both on same , legal, page.

And no. You don’t attend court unless you can’t agree. And even then thes3 days you need to go to Mediation first.
courts process is designed to avoid you going to court hearing

the process is carried out in a “court”. In practice that’s some court assistants (legal trained) reading your case, checkin* it over to be sure it meets rules, then passing to “judge” to “seal” . It’s mostly electronic these days,

Having no children and no joint assets makes the process easier. If you guys can be amicable, that will also make the whole process go smoother than most.
I'll leave this free resource here too in case it can help so you have all the help you might need. I used this in my divorce which was a lot more complicated but luckily yours doesn't sound like it. I don't think the process will be very long and there are options for not going through court. Look at the first few help guides for those options and what to do first so you have everything ready before getting on with the divorce xxx
