Claim against divorce solicitor

Has anyone ever lodged one and if so how? I've been reading up and SRA means that I can't take them to court. I have been treated negligently and poss fraud. I have limited means to do this myself and I don't know where to turn to try and recoup a significant financial loss.

As in your solicitor has defrauded you or you didn’t get the outcome of divorce settlement you wanted?

very different things

How have you formed the view that the SRA means you can't sue a negligent solicitor? Of course you can! You'd have to prove they were negligent, though, rather than just you were unhappy with their advice.

The divorce has completely stalled due to family issues that have overtaken the process. But the negligence was separate to this. And I don't know how to bring a claim or what indeed I can claim for.

The first step is to make a formal complaint to the firm the solicitor works for. They have to investigate and respond. If you still aren't happy, you can go to the legal ombudsman.

What's the negligent act (or omission)?
