Both in agreement, very straightforward. A few weeks?

Mine was approved the same day it was accepted by the court - It was drafted by a solicitor, but I submitted the forms so it was by post - it took longer to get through to pay for it, than it did for it to be approved. (This was in September this year).

Hi, from submission to the portal to approval, mine took 6 weeks. Was told 1-2 so be prepared for a bit of a wait. Felt like the longest wait of the whole process! Final order took 6 hours!

Oh god it all seems so bloody onerous. We've been separated YEARS, yet this part seems to be taking forever!

Its because its the last step I think, was painful to wait especially when its so out of your hands, and you cant chase it up! Will be worth it in the end :-)

Have you had your decree nisi yet, I worked in the Family Court until recently and it was not uncommon for the final consent order to be held up for months because the decree nisi had not been issued. There were back logs with the decree nisis. Without the nisi the financial order cant be issued.

@Mia2468 everything I have been advised and read is to have the consent order done before applying for the final order (previously decree nisi). You don't need a consent order to apply for the final order.

Sorry I think I have confused you, you are correct shouldn't apply for the Decree absolute until the financial order has been approved- but you cant have the financial order approved until the decree nisi has been issued.
So the ideal situation is the financial order is approved in between the decree nisi and decree absolute.

Decree nisi first
Financial order next
Decree abolute last

The names of the divorce orders have changed in the last year or so since the divorce work has been moved from local courts (where I worked) to the Business Centre in Bury St Edmunds

Oops yes sorry, def confused over the terms as not used anymore. Yes I've had the conditional order almost 6 weeks ago.

Thats good news, so at least you wont have to wait for that to be done
(As you say Decree Nisis are now conditional orders)

I left back in April and there weren't backlogs for financial orders then just a few weeks, so hopefully wont be too long.

I often spoke to solicitors who were so frustrated for their clients who had agreed the financial order but were waiting many months for the decree nisi (conditional order) so couldn't get the financial order approved.
Good luck anyway
