No Fault - what happens if dh doesn't sign?

First of all, I'm really sorry if this has been asked before, and I'm sure it has many times.

I started filling in my online divorce application on 6th April last year, with the No Fault wind in my sails. I stopped part way through and saved it to go back to. To cut a long story short, the wind dropped and the sails went down, but now I can feel it returning and I want to just get it done. Following a discussion with him last week when things came to a head, I can see dh is going to make things very difficult. My question is, can he just not sign the forms and will it all come to a halt? My perception of the no fault law change was that a partner cannot contest the divorce petition, but is this correct? I was maybe simplistically thinking I would fill in the forms and be divorced in six months. Can someone please explain the process if you have been in a similar situation? Thank you.

Pretty sure you can apply as a single application as ultimately he can't refuse you a divorce. You have to prove to a court that he is aware of the proceedings and you've taken reasonable steps to notify him - so You would have to pay to serve him the divorce papers either by bailiff or court order I believe so it does make it more expensive

The process can get a little confusing at times - especially because we don’t actually know it and what we can do. See if this can help you https://iamlip.com/ the help guides guided me on what to do throughout and explain how you can go about your divorce. Hope this can help you figure out what you can do!
