Mortgage / staying in the house options

Soon I will be divorcing my partner.
The home we live in we bought together. The equity is probably around £120,000. Split between us it won't be much for a deposit for a home near where we live.

We have a small DC.

Has anyone kept the home while the partner moved out? How did this happen? I don't have £60,000+ to buy partner out.
I'm not sure if I can remortgage the house on my wage?

Are there any other options?
Thank you

key questions.
What are your relative incomes, including benefits you will get as resident parent. What does a two bed property cost to buy or rent locally. How will you be coparenting. Are there any other assets, savings pensions?

Assets will be split according to needs. Let’s say you only have equity. Housing needs would be 1-2 bed property for each of you. If one of you earns less you will need a bigger share of the equity to pay for rent or a mortgage.

Mesher orders are an option that can be agreed or awarded if there isn’t enough equity to meet housing needs for children. There are variations. But usually your ex defers receiving his share of the equity for a period of time whilst you pay the mortgage. However he will still get his % share of the sale price when the order ends.

Depends on lots of factors....like who is the higher earner. My ex husband has agreed to wait 2.5 years to receive his share of the equity of the house - im the much higher earner than him but have huge childcare bills which actually makes it less likely for me to get a new mortgage than him! Once the childcare bills are lower I'll remortgage and pay him off
