Divorce stalled as husband not cooperating

Hello. Asking for a friend
She is divorcing husband. Papers were served a couple of months ago
But husband ignores all communications from her solicitor and currently is not providing any financial information in terms of pension. Savings etc.

Its not clear to me how the divorce can progress if he doesn't cooperate and respond to requests for information

Im sure this isn't isolated to just my friend
Any feedback appreciated

She needs to get a new solicitor
The divorce can be progressed by having him personally served with the divorce papers and the finances can be resolved by going to mediation and then issuing court proceedings

Thanks. To be clear. He was served with divorce papers in April.

He won't submit form E of the financial information. Is looking unlikely to want to go to mediation

Not sure how you can progress that

Your friend will need to progress through the court route for financial remedy.

Her solicitor needs to sort this. Or like someone suggested get a new solicitor who will expedite matters. There are cost implications for failure to comply with Court directions. A lot of solicitors drag things out. I think there are Court applications that can be made in this type of situation.

Well she attends mediation and if he doesn't attend then she gets a piece of paper which allows her to issue court proceedings.

There are consequences for failing to comply with court orders.

This is basic stuff and if her solicitor is not telling her this then get a new one

Your friend needs to sack her solicitor and issue Form A

Yes indeed. Form A and personal service of the petition.

Her Solicitor needs to be much more on the ball with this if they want her money.
