7 weeks into a separation which will become a divorce due to his affair though he blamed me at first and I had to find out through other methods.

I am still massively struggling with feelings of betrayal and also panic about the future and what my life will look like.

I'm 44, 2 kids 11 and 8.

Any book recommendations or podcasts that will either help me with the process, or make me feel better about what is happening or just anything anyone has found helpful?

Thanks

I remember seeing your posts from a week or two ago. Hows it going? I don't know about podcasts but I found listening to motivational stuff online helped.

I'm still off work. My children are struggling alot. I just keep finding stuff out in dribs and drabs which is hard. It's more anxiety about the unknown. Hate him and wish I never had to see him again but struggling with the thought of my life from now on. Also kids won't stay so everything on me. Trying to persuade them. He doesn't do emotion. Just Disney dad

It's hard I know. It's a journey of unknown length. Do you know why they don't want to go to their Dads? Hope you have friends and family to talk it through.

I started listening to My Dad Wrote a Porno not long after my separation about 8 months ago.

I binged the whole thing and I can honestly say it helped me just for the sheer funniness of it. It was like listening to old friends just chat shit.

I’ve moved on to Alan Carr’s Life’s a Beach and I’m finding that just as funny to listen to.

Hi...
Sorry you are in this situation.

The anxiety, panic, anger and torment will one day fade but for now just accept the tiny moments you are not overwhelmed. You will have a journey that you will need to navigate the best way possible. It's a learn as you go process unfortunately. Feel you feelings, find support for you and your children.

If you need to seek a solicitor do so and try and coordinate the practical stuff as best you can.

Do not beat yourself up for your situation and how you cope, this is a massive life changing experience.

I wish you and your kids well and remember to be kind to you.
