Hello,

I have been married for three years and my husband, me and our 14 month old daughter live with my husband's parents who own this house. This is due to cultural reasons.

To cut a long story short, it has been a very turbulent few years and it has now come to a head. There has been a lot of emotional abuse from my husband towards me. My husband has now told me to leave and that I am not allowed to take the baby with me. I am apparently now only allowed to have her on Thursdays.

I have always been responsible for 100% of the childcare and the idea of leaving her here without me is making me feel sick.

What am I supposed to do? I am really panicking and would appreciate some advice.

What happens if you pick up the baby & go out the door?

I don't know tbh. I'm worried that will have some kind of legal consequences when it comes to child custody later on. I don't know how it all works!

He would probably physically stop me anyway

If you’ve done 100% of the childcare, does he work? Will he leave the house at some point? Take that as your opportunity to remove yourself and daughter and get the hell away

Please do not leave your daughter!!!!
You are her primary cater it is not in her best interest to only see you once a week.

Please ring women's aid! They will help you!

Yes, ring women’s aid. They’ve heard it all before. I guess his family is around to keep an eye on you. Yes, the courts will get involved if he’s that unreasonable and abusive. You’ve got a big fight ahead but you have to fight it for your child. Best of luck!!

Hi, I'm sending you a PM which can help you to understand how it works.
