Equity split if child arrangements are 50/50

Hi,
I really didn’t want it as definitely not in the interests for the children but the court has given a 50/50 child arrangements order.

My salary is much much lower than his because I was the primary caregiver all the years. I feel like I’ve just been made redundant.
My mortgage capacity is £130K.
His mortgage capacity is £615K.

How will the financials be split now then the children will go 50/50.
If our housing needs are the same, will the financials also be 50/50?

Probably not, but it depends on the available assets and local housing market, ages of the children and maximised income.

When you say that your mortgage potential is £130k. What is that based on? By that I mean have you added In benefits and is your income maximised.

It probably won’t be.

To take my situation as an example - I have a “lives with” child arrangements order, but we split the house equity 73:27 in my ex’s favour because their income is a lot lower than mine.

It all depends on the circumstances of the case - and the circumstances are often very different between cases.

If your saying his mortgage capacity is over £600k then presumably he earns over £200k a year and you around £40k

How much equity is in the home currently? How old are the children and their sexes?

(Also presumably he has a very "good" job if earns that - and one he has earns on his own merits? what was your career before having children - were you ever likely to earn what he did?? )
